They where flying high

the other night….Ms F and Mr A aimed for the sky….

we went to the Kingdom of Dreams and outside they have an attraction…the bungy orb !!! and of course they thought it looked fun so…

ready for take off….I think my heart was beating faster than theirs when it said swisch…and off they went….I heard a long scream….wonder if it was Ms F or Mr A that let all the air out of the lungs ?

up up into the sky ….then they where bouncing around for a while….I'm sure glad that they decided to do it before we had dinner !

Ms F looked so happy looking down on us…wonder if it was because it was finally over or ?
I was happy when they landed on the ground again …and they where all smiling and laughing so it must have been fun…don't understand how that could be….

then off we went to dinner at Kingdom off Dreams…we had south Indian dinner….dosas…yummy !

everybody has to get their picture taken with the elephant outside….
a full day with activities came to an end and I tell you ….we had no problems falling asleep.

A sunny afternoon at Dilli Haat.

Dilli Haat is one of the markets in Delhi…you can find handicrafts from all over India and it has been made to look like a traditional weekly village market, called a haat….and it's a place to bargain ….if you don't know how to…you better practise before coming here….

it's always very colourful at the market….

at the moment there's weavers showing how to …..reminded me of my grandmother on my dads side because she did this a long time ago..

workmanship in action

Ms F wanted to get Mehendi done on one of her hands…..it's henna being painted on the skin...

they make the most beautiful patterns in a short time...

all done….it had to dry for an hour and then the "brown"clay falls off and the painting stays for about 14 days…

we had some fast food….with spicy sauce…the food court is big and you can find food from all over India…
we had a great afternoon and did some bargains ( papier machè and silver jewellery)
when we where driving towards Gurgaon we started talking about all the animals they've seen here and we just said elephant….and guess what we saw walking right next to us….

so we stopped and got out of the car so that we could

come close ….so nice…

elephants are special and it was so nice that they got a chance to get this close...
the encounter made our day even better !

A day filled with sunshine and culture…Qutub Minar complex in Delhi.

If visiting Delhi I think that you have got to see the minar…the Qutub minar…
the worlds tallest brick minar and so old ! built in 1193…..

I have shown picture from this sight before so you might recognise yourself … I see different things every time I'm here….or it might be that I look at the minar and the surroundings with different eyes...

the minar is 73 meters high and has a diameter of 2.5 meters at the top and 15 meters at the bottom…
it's impressive...

love these cut-out stone windows…and with the sun was shining through…so beautiful...

magical sunlight...

beautiful young lady against an ancient wall !

a 7m high iron pillar in the middle of the mosque…if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back against it ?..it's said that your wish will be fulfilled… haven't tried that yet ….

it's just so much fun to have them here…

we saw many parrots at the minar complex…in trees or hanging on to the ruins…

this was the culture thing of the day….then we headed for Dilli Haat…
look at my next post if you are curious of what we did and saw…..

Christmas day has been all about birds and animals…juldagen blev djurdagen !

Early this morning we went to Sultanpur National park….what a morning it was…the sun was shining but it was a little chilly at first…and then we saw blue sky all day…and it was so nice and warm in the sun..

there where guys with a lot bigger cameras than mine...

a herd of Nilgais in the early morning sun…almost magical...

this blue cow, nilgai, found THE spot in the sunshine...

trying to hide from all theses weird people with cameras….

time to head to one of the islands…too many people around….

we saw lots of birds….this little guy was standing on the path….

colourful birds…beautiful aren't they ?

here's another colourful one…the kingfisher….amazing…

as last time we saw and heard so many storks….beautiful in flight...

a cattle egret on the hump of a bull !

On the way home I had to stop and get a picture of this field because this could actually be back home…just not in december…it was fun to see so many animals and birds today especially since we have visitors who has not seen these ones…juldagen blev  djurdagen !

A little different day…before the day…lille julafton i Indien.

Santa arrived early this year…yesterday he dropped off two precious people at our house….
our son Anton and his girlfriend Felicia….and the mother heart felt so good again….of course we wish that the whole family could be here ! but…
after a long nights sleep the youngster where ready for some action and a dose of culture…so off we went to Delhi and Humayuns Tomb….on the way we asked our driver if he get use his magic so that we got to see elephants and camels during their visit….he just laughed of course…but guess what ?

here comes Mr Elephant….it's still fascinating to see them in traffic….

so cool to see him with the Red Fort in the background…..

big steps to keep up with traffic….

we found our way to Humayuns Tomb….it seemed that half of Delhi had also found their way there...
seemed like all school kids where visiting the sights today….it's a nice big park so it actually wasn't that crowded once we got in….
it turned into such a nice day though….the sky cleared up and we got some sun and it got warm….

it's still amazes me that they could build like this back in 1565…finished by 1570….amazing…

hard to believe it's the 23 of dec. isn't it ?…

love this picture !

I looked through one of the stone cut windows and saw this woman sitting …turned into a nice one also...

again and again…amazing architecture….can't seem to get enough...

We had a different but oh so nice "lille julafton" in India.
