The auspicious moment was a puja = prayer ritual

yesterday we spiritually celebrated the opening of admissions to Kunskapsskolan International

the ceremony took place in the cafeteria where we all sat on mattresses

(thank god for that cause otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get up again)

I love to see how these beautiful patterns are made with herbs, spices, rice etc

preparations are almost done and it can begin...

Mr M got a "ring with an antenna" for better connection up there....

here we go....

rituals, prayers and songs for a little more than an hour

there are about 250 workers at school and they where given clothes donated by 

Kunskapsskolans parents and staff

great day 

and what an experience to be part of an important puja

our new school is  coming along

and it's starting to look like a really nice school

track and field, tennis, cricket, soccer etc

yesterday was a special day at KI

all staff where at school to take part in an auspicious moment at the new school

kids are innovative

especially the ones who don't have Ipads and Iphones and all that other luxurious stuff that kids will survive without

from a distance I saw these underprivileged kids playing and having fun

I heard giggles an laughter

preparing for the ride

it's fun to just swing but maybe even better to 

almost fall out when your friends are letting go and it spins round and round and round ......

all you need is

 some fabric and some trees

Faces of India

Yesterday I saw this girl braiding her "grandmothers" hair 

 on a charpai - daybed in one of the villages 

so I just had to pay a visit

the problem for me when visiting is that it turns into a big "circus" so I have kind of learned to work fast...usually kids start to act up and wants to be in every picture with funny faces and yes, it  happened yesterday too...but

I did get some "normal" pics while talking to this young mother

this was a first for them....they had never had anyone like me entering their home wanting to get some pictures and talk...no wonder the kids where acting up...

I showed them the pictures and they where totally amazed

chota baby...smallest one....

I did make it pretty short because I had trouble handling the kids after a while

they where hanging in my arms wanting to get hold of the camera and I was afraid it would take a beating...so off I went but it was yet another memorable encounter
