Ranthambore - zone 2 and tour my India warning.

zone 2 was a really pleasant route...
the vegetation was different and the roads where better..
we also had a better jeep, a driver who knew how to handle the jeep and a guide who knew
what he was talking about....
it's the zone where we saw the tigers !!!!

see the jay ?.....nötskrika alltsÄ...

wonderful morning light....and fresh air....

felt a little like The Jungle book...

lots of peacocks...

this zone has a wonderful old fort with a temple....

did you find any ? tigers that is....any tracks ?

one of Indias biggest banyan trees...

they are easy to spot when they sit in a tree without leaves...

amazing scenery....

he's having a moment...

an eagle looking for pray....us ?.....

they are so blue that you spot them from far away and in action...
a kingfisher...

a spotted dear...

more hanuman langurs....

they are not easy to spot.....see what it is ?

yapp...a crocodile....

all of us where so happy and pleased with what we saw...
almost all animals from The Jungle book...

only downside was that the company we booked the trip with
cheated us on the train tickets....and they told me in the middle of dinner saturday evening !
first I was told that we could get train tickets for monday....hmmm my daughter had a flight to
Goa monday morning....I was not happy...
then we got the car and a driver...
a run down Innova and a driver from h....

we did get home...
but
I WILL NEVER EVER BOOK ANYTHING WITH
TOUR MY INDIA
and you shouldn't either

Kaa and Baloo in Ranthambore

I wanted to show you some more pictures from Ranthambore so
today is all about zone 8....
it was an afternoon safari and it turned out to be the worst bumpy wise....
ended up with a broken jeep..
anyway...here goes...

not a lot of water in this river bank....

we got to see Kaa...a python filled with ?
it had just eaten and was so big bellied...
5 meters long !
wow

when we where leaving the park we saw it again..
same spot of course....
used the flash because it was almost dark and
found the head of Kaa...

it sure is fantastic nature...

nilgai...

we where on the hunt for the tigers...and so was everyone else in the park...
so much that getting stuck on rocks is part of the adventure...or not !
at this spot it wasn't driving ....it was just surviving and getting out....
it was here the driver hit a big rock and the jeep started to brake down...

they said this was a spot where the tiger often are spotted....
a waterhole !
but where's the water ?

the sun was setting and the light was amazing...
but it gets dark in an instance..

when where on our way out of the park my friend Mr G all of a sudden said
"I think there's a bear over there"
and so it was....Baloo ! a sloth bear...

some pictures in motion because it was on the go....

Kaa and Baloo on our first safari day....so much fun...
all of us had minor injuries though...
that driver really needed a lesson in jeep driving !

Ranthambore Tiger Park

saturday morning we headed for Ranthambore national park..
the tiger park..
it's a big park with 60 tigers....and other wildlife
but  today is just about  these magnificent creatures....

on the morning safari yesterday we where fortunate to get to see the tiger..
a mother with three cubs...about 8-9 months old....

first we saw the fresh footprint and then

in the morning light she was right there..
so close...

maybe 25-30 meters from us...

it was so cool....
it was one of those wow-moments...
Bengal tiger in the wild..well, national park wild...

family morning time....

attentive !

one of the cubs went to explore by himself...

they stay with the mother until they are about 2-2 1/2 years old..

then they moved to higher grounds....
see how the cubs are playing ?

some morning grooming..

they are hard to spot in the grass don't you think...how many of them can you see in this one?

now I understand why people don't see them coming....or hear them...
we listened to the warning signals from the other animals and birds...

"I can see you better from here"

I guess they are all in there but..

family affection..

she actually growled at us or something .....

I think she saw me,us and licked her mouth as in...delhilicious bites !

 off again.....

all of us where so happy that we got to experience this...
what animals do I have left to see here in India ?
hmmm....
I'll get back to you on that because I really need to get into bed now..
tomorrow we're off on new adventures.
