Park Hyatt Goa resort and spa in Cansaulim

as the previous times we stayed at Park Hyatt Goa resort and spa
with it's beautiful surroundings and closeness to the beach it's been perfect for us
coming here is pure food for the soul
walks on the beach and around the resort area, dips in the pool, spa treatments, reading or just being
.......
up for a walk around the grounds?

reception area

upper pool area overlooking the beach and the ocean

lower pool area with the pool bar

sunset from the pool bar

on the way out to the beach

love these trees with the airy roots

lotus pond

the lagoon area

this time we got a room in the lagoon area which is really nice
lots of different trees which means lots of different birds

again we enjoyed our stay
but
I must say that they need to get it together when it comes to maintenence and service !
the wooden floor around the pool area is in poor shape and we actually witnessed an accident with
a father holding his small boy who fell through the floor !!
of course both he and his little boy got hurt...the child fell head first !
no staff helped out...they where just standing there...it was guests helping out
and guests who put things around the hole....
of course no one in management came out
amazingly bad I'm sad to say
hopefully they will get their stuff together and do some work
shame if this beautiful place will just collapse

hope your work week starts out good after a nice easter break dear reader

The Raas...Wow ! what a hotel

The Raas sure is an amazing hotel
and it's inside the old walls of Jodphur, down below the Merhrangarh Fort
I gave you a little glimpse the other day
now where home again so here goes
hope you'll enjoy

just a little reminder ....it was really wow !
walking in seeing the fort

we relaxed....besides the sightseeing in 42-44 degrees celsius !

and exercised some.....

so lush and green

waterjars, made in Jodphur

love the blue against the red sandstone

we could tell that we where in the blue city

from the roof of the hotel we got the first glimpse

we did get earplugs because this mosque was just outside the hotel
so if we didn't want to wake up at 05.45 we'd better use them
I didn't mind since it's all part of the experience

I just have to show you what the evenings where like
magical
not a bad spot to have dinner
the rooftop bar had a spectacular view

me like.....

I have found so many really good interior- exterior design ideas here in India
would love to create some of them back home !

I will be showing lots of pictures from what we did in Jodphur so be sure to check in later

Jodphur, the blue city and The Raas has welcomed us

we are in Jodphur, the blue city in Rajasthan
so far really good
The Raas has welcomed us
and we are really pleased
who wouldn't be !

our hotel the Raas is at the foot of the famous fort that we'll be visiting tomorrow
quite cool
the weather was everything but cool though
it was desert hot !!

only downside is that the wifi is so slooooooooooow
so it seems the blog may have to wait until I get home
these two took more than an hour to download !!!!

Dera Mandi BnB - a wonderful getaway

In the village of Dera Mandi there's a wonderful little BnB tucked away in a
lush garden with a welcoming swimming pool
let me take you on a little walk...
starting out with

the mansion....

a walking path surrounds the garden ....

you can walk in the greenery among

all different kinds of trees and plants and flowers
and it leads you to

the pool patio overlooking both the garden and the rooms

here I am facing the suite...

from the suite you can walk right out into the second garden....

the rooms are surrounded by greenery and I saw flowers

yes, flowers that I haven't seen before

facing the two rooms...that also have a huge patio outside...

everywhere I walked I saw all these lovely flowers

it was such a pleasant visit and I can imagine how relaxed I would feel after a weekend here....

Paula and Howard's BnB is located just outside of Gurgaon in Dera Mandi village.

The Oberoi Gurgaon..it dropped a star or two last night

not far from where we live is where we had dinner last night....
since it was my mothers last night with us it we thought it was nice to try a new spot....
the hotel is beautiful

the "pool" in front is really welcoming...and the wall with the greenery was just gorgeous...
do you see the "rock climber" working on the wall ?

just as the Oberoi in Delhi there's a gallery and art all over....and the hotel houses some of the top brands in fashion like Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta etc
always fun to look...

he was kind of ...different....

we started of with drinks in the piano bar....blue lagoons and rusty nails...
the blue lagoon was really good....and Mr M enjoyed his rusty nail...

then we decided to eat at 361...gorgeous view....

the food was really really good...too bad that the chefs work gets spoiled by waiters fumbling with...
almost everything....we ordered Carlsberg beer and they brought in Cosmopolitans....hmmm
I can't explain how you can get beer and drinks wrong...anyhow....we waited for our food but didn't get any bread.....got the check and for once we did check the check...and the had added two extra beers on our bill !!...so I recommend the food but be prepared for waiters  not knowing what they are doing....

the view just got better and better ....

before leaving we had a peak inside the art gallery....strange art I tell you....

we had a really nice evening and I think my mother really enjoyed it and that's good....
at the moment she's on the plane going back home...
and boy, does she have stories to tell her friends !
