Monkey temple

Good morning to all of you....hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you are ready for a new week filled with work and workouts and everything else that will fill your week..maybe some surprises even ?
this post will take you back to Jaipur because I still have things that I do want to share from our wonderful short trip there...here we go....

 we where recommended to go and see Galta Temple, the monkey temple, so of course we did....

to get there we drove through this village with beautiful walls,buildings and decorations ....

the watch dog ! 

once we got to the temple area I was confused....I had difficulties seeing the beauty or whatever I try to find...it was different for sure but.....I think this is a spot I don't want to come back to....there where monkeys everywhere and it was just really filthy....it was difficult just to get some pictures....and I had a hard time keeping track of where the monkeys where at all time while taking pictures...I did not want to be bitten by a red ass monkey !

the temple is done in and around the mountain....and that's kind of cool....if they would just maintain it somewhat...mend broken things and so forth..

not sure if it says " don't feed the monkeys" or " don't litter".....next to the sign I think there where 100 of monkeys...and tons of litter....

at sunset all the monkeys come to the water.....I told Mr M that I would not want to be here then...

I guess it was kind of cool to see the monkeys climbing in and out of the windows etc....that part was just like being at a zoo ...this was just without all the fences and we where kind of part of the zoo !

the buildings are beautifully done but it didn't help this time...and the area is beautiful but...

this was the first time I found the monkeys not looking cute,nice at all....it was the opposite actually....I found them looking sick and shabby....and my mind where thinking of rabies...

you would think that with all these monkeys I would take lots of pictures of them....turned out to be the opposite....the once you see with monkeys that was it...I think I was a little scared of them creeping up on me or just attacking me because they wanted to be fed....and they are used to being fed...

walking out we did see some of the boys attached to the temple....and we did see someone trying to clean up some of the mess but...

doing his chores...

this was an experience for sure but I will not go back again.....

been there and done it...

good things ,bad things ...it's just part of the adventure...

I'm off to the gym so I hope that the start of the week turns out to be  a good one for all of you

Life around water

on the drive home from Abohar I decided to look at life around water....

the necessity for all life....so I had about 8 stops along the road...it was an amazing way to meet animals and people.....

yes even the buffalos can see that I'm not from around here....they do take very good care of them...

at the next water hole I met this family....the kids where a little shy but the mother was the cutest and nicest person....she invited me and my driver to the village for tea or coffee....

a grandfather walked up with his grandson and started talking ...wanting to know why I was here ....

he was so proud of the little boy...

in the water behind him I saw a calf swimming by....

at this stop I did have to walk a little closer and they where a little reluctant at first...I don't blame them....I mean this white lady walks into their village and wants to tak pictures of them washing....I do think they thought I was totally crazy....but...after some few words in hindi and it was ok....

many years since we saw washing clothes being done this way...

the elder man came out to inspect me after a couple of minutes and he was very reluctant !!

on the other side of the road I saw this idol sitting...

the some ladies started trowing what I thought was garbage into the water so I asked my driver and he explained that it was old worship pictures and posters and so forth...you can't throw these anywhere...they need to be put into holy water....so at the bottom I suddenly saw many many frames and pictures....

more women doing the washing and talking and laughing...

I was so happy when I stopped at this spot since I got to see happy kids jumping and diving! into the water....

well, not everybody was happy with the water....but you need to be cleaned so....

it was amazing to see life around water this way....something we take for granted...

wether it's for drinking ,cleaning,showering,cooking,washing etc etc....

the necessity of life doesn't always come out of a pipe....nice and clean .....

I'm off to some sightseeing with a lady from Sweden who's been here working for a week...

she needs to see some sights before going back home...don't you think?

A sightseeing tour in Abohar

we where taken on a little sightseeing tour around Abohar.......we got to see a temple and the market and then I was totally drained after a full day of work...
but it was fun to come to these places that we would not have found ourselves...

theses little hole in the wall shops you can find all over....

outside the muslim temple they sold all the green fabric and the sweets for the offerings....

I kind of felt that I was being looked at ! but I thought it was mostly the people....

guess not ! because when I turned around this guy was right there....

the offerings....the sweets....

the line to the temple just got longer and longer....

a tattoo artist...with tools I haven't seen before...

and one guy was actually getting one done..I forgot to ask how much it was !

in the market...they had a white house ! but this one was a white house because of the white fabrics being sold....

in India do as the Indian does......here you can see men holding hands.....never married couples because you can't show affection in public....but men can.... it was fun to see Christians reaction when Mats grabbed his hand....we had to reflect on it in the car.....they both said it felt good, safe....

I'm sure that Christian will come back to Sweden with many new impressions and some good laughs.

Wow ! what a school we have in Abohar

Wow....what a school the kids are getting in Abohar....

I love the dome.... 

walking into the school is like walking into any Kunskapsskola...

who wouldn't want to have their kids here.....

the classrooms are bright and what a view they have...

the training has been in the art room .....25 excited teachers just waiting for the kids to come to school

happy with the training so far....

the view from the roof is amazing...

this is how happy they where when I left....

just kidding...thy are just happy that the teachers training is up and running...

the school from the main road...there is a building in front of it though....I just wanted to show you the dome in all it's glory....

it has been so much fun to meet all the new teachers..and to be a part of the training.....

all I can do now is to wish all the staff
