I took a friend to the arts and crafts museum yesterday

and it was so much fun....
I really recommend this small museum
even though I have been here many times i still enjoy it....
I see new things every time...or look at the things with different eyes...
like these beautiful "windows"....

so love these teracotta guys

a close up of one of the many beautiful doors..

my friend Kathy from Canada...

always a couple of vendors from different parts of India selling their things in the courtyard of the museum...

artist in action...both Kathy and I really liked the painting in the left corner...too bad it wasn't finished

Kathy is a good bargainer....she bought a wonderful elephant painting...

I did like this one....

the museum is a popular spot for upcoming artists....every time I have been here I find them sitting around drawing or painting ....

the courtyard in the museum village...

the wall paintings are many ....to bad that the maintenance isn't top notch ....some things are in really bad shape and needs some care....but I did see some restoring going on....
when we where leaving we saw this little temple on the go...

I don't know what this represents....but they sure did look colourful ....don't you agree?
enjoy your sunday.....I sure will
maybe I'll even do two posts today ?

It was quite the showroom...so if you like me like to see really nice IKAT fabric you have got to visit this place....
I did sneak some pictures from their entrance....

Can't wait to see more prints and fabric when I visit Jaipur in Rajasthan
Now I'm off to look at vintage looking furniture....who knows, maybe I'll find some new treasures ?

Shopped with the experts around Nehru Place..

the other day I joined the swedish shopping experts for some shopping at a new place for me.....the experts are some of the swedish housewives that has lived in Delhi a lot longer than I have and they know their away around the markets, melas, haats, streets and alleys of Delhi...I need to walk in their footsteps so that I can find all the treasure places because sadly some of them are leaving Delhi in a near future...after a swedish "fika with semlor" (oh my good so yummy) we
headed for fabric stores at Nehru place...but I'll have to get back to you with a post about fabric later because I was so overwhelmed of all I saw....
this post is all about what I saw around Nehru place..I think I could have bought anything and everything there...

up from a balcony I saw this vendor selling used books....had to get closer...

looked like he really enjoyed his life as book vendor....I don't think he even noticed any of us...

there's something about books that I like....especially when I see many....

I could get jeans,pants...also brands...kind of difficult to try them on though...need to plan what to wear next time...got a good tip from one of the experts ! and tshirts and sweaters and phone covers ....and

toys anyone....

guess you have got to have some patience when going through the piles of all the clothes but again did see some brands I know....bags and jackets and

shoes shoes and more shoes...and

this guy was selling some kind of dry flower that you put in water and it came to life...kind of looked like broccoli flowers when dry ....and
