I just had to show Hauz Khaas

to Mr A and Ms F...lately there's been lots of redoing in Hauz Khaas...which is not good when visiting...all the streets are torn up and it's been really messy all over....but we had a nice stroll around....even though that meant jumping over and stepping on things....hope they get it all together soon...

it's a little like from the Jungle book....isn't it?

the old and the new competing for our attention all over the place....

it sure was a beautiful day ....and we did enjoy our walk since the place is beautiful....

I just wish that Indians could learn how NOT  TO through their garbage where they are standing...I must say that it was even more trash all over this time...at some spots the beauty can't be seen because of all the trash....it makes me really sad when I see a trashcan and I see people just dumping their empty water bottles etc. at the spot instead of taking two steps forward and helping out...this is the BIG downside for India....the tourists that come are often appalled by all the garbage and dirt they see and have a hard time understanding why people just dumps everything everywhere...sorry for pointing a finger at this but it's actually one of the things I find the hardest about living here...I'm so used to clean streets and clean areas all over...and people actually using the trashcans....enough about the lecturing...

found a new NGO store also...this one for empowering women by making them earn money..

next time I will actually get a necklace I saw in the store...

as always I find new spots at this seemingly forever evolving place...that's some of it's charm !

We payed a visit to Gandhi Smriti, Birla House, where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated.

Since Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation we decided to pay a visit to Birla house where Gandhi spent many days at his friends house....he actually spent his last 144 days there…

they made Birla house into a museum in 2005....lots of interesting stories and pictures etc...

these are the rooms he actually lived in....and it's been left untouched ever since the assassination...

footsteps from the first room I showed you...along the path that Gandhi walked the last day in his life..

leading up to the place where he usually had his prayer meetings....but on the 30th january 1948 he was assassinated...

just like Gandhi did in his days.....while we where walking around the house and into the garden I said that I could actually feel the history and I got goosebumps....

so if ever in Delhi...it's really worth a visit...adress: 5 Tees January Marg.

My favourite monkey…the Hanuman langur

the last pictures from Rajasthan are on my favourite monkey..the Hanuman langur….

we saw so many along the road to our resort…to bad the sun wasn't shining …we saw plenty more the day before when it was warm and the sun was out..

it looked like they where as cold as we where actually….it felt good to see them in freedom instead of chained in a garden in Delhi…

oh it's really itching …..

oh…got it…

hmmm I wonder….

here I come…..

they where actually hugging …like to stay warm…

so this was the end of our Rajasthan trip…we headed back to Delhi on the Golden Temple train…I already look forward to my next trip to Rajasthan….hope it will be soon.

Camels and colours of Rajasthan

I promised you more camels and I tell you….it wasn't hard to spot camels…they where everywhere….so cool to see the styled camels with different hairstyles and patterns in the fur…

in between the camels all of a sudden there where a herd of goats…and a colourful lady….

I just love it….

Villages around Ranthambore National park…Sawai Madhopur district.

While entering or leaving the national park we drove through many villages…

we where told that many villages where actually moved when "building" the national park…so I thought I'd show you some shots of what it looks like ….remember that we are in Rajasthan, the largest state in India…

these are taken in the morning at around 10 while laving the safari tour..

this young girl was at the water well getting water…then carrying it back on her head…I seem to have a fondness of taking pictures of people...

so colourful….pink house and a

it's important to embellish everything…

on the way to….it occurred to me that we only saw women on the roads….

sometimes it felt like we had travelled back in time…

happy smiling faces along the sandy road….

can't help but love the colourfulness….

all of a sudden I saw this behind walking into the greenery…all over Rajasthan you find lots of camels..

I could hear the bells from them ...
