on my little tour of the country side I could really tell that it is harvest time....all over I see busy people working by hand (like old days back home)....and I see these funny looking overloaded "bags" on the tractors....it's the leftovers from the wheat that sells as food for the animals...they stop at certain places along the roadside and wait to get it sold.....
at this spot they wondered how much I was prepared to pay....I guess I was the only who had stopped
and for them the only reason to stop is to buy....they can't imagine why you would stop to get pictures....I tried to explain that I don't have any cows or camels or buffalos....but I should have asked how much an overloaded bag would go for ?
busy busy...this lady stopped and looked up and she was just so cute...
it's not only women I see actually...just haven't found any interesting men...yet
working by hand with a reaper as they did in Sweden back in the 30s...I remember my grandmother having these just bigger ones.....lie....don't know what that's called in english actually...hmm
anyone ?
this picture looks so romantic so I had to show it....but this work is everything but romantic...it is hard work in the streaking sun.....
too bad she was so far away ....but she did notice me....
I just love the bougainvillea's...
this guy was also helping out with the harvest...I guess getting straws for the nest.....need to look up what kind of bird he is though...
couldn't help but notice the kingfisher from really far away.....
it's so wonderful to get out of Gurgaon and enjoy the rural areas...no honking.....but this picture sure shows how the big city is getting bigger.....the high rises show from far away..I had to show you even though the picture is blurry...
well, I'm off to the pool for a little workout...
what I can tell from all the posts on Facebook I don't have to
encourage anyone to do a workout ....seems like everybody is running the marathons or doing all the extreme challenges...
I'll just stick to my swimming which is nice when it's 38 degrees celsius outside...
simma lugnt !
Lie (svenska) is scythe in English... at least that's what the dictionary says.
ReplyDeleteLove from Nybro! <3
...å andra sidan kallas "liemannen" för "the Grim Reaper" :)
ReplyDeletejag trodde att skära ( den lilla ) var reaper......new movie coming ..the grim scythe'er..hahahha need to check what the Indians call the big one....haven't seen any though....I'll check with Kathy from Canada who knows a lot about farming !
ReplyDeleteThe small one in the picture is a Sickle - as in the old Russian code of arms "Hammer & Sickle". The big 2-handed version is a Scythe (Lee in Danish).
ReplyDeleteThanks Christian...are you still in Gurgaon ?
